Social Economy Centre

The Social Economy Centre of the University of Toronto, Imagine Canada, and the Ontario Co-operative Association have launched a research alliance that aims at enhancing capacity for ongoing research and development for the social economy of Southern Ontario. This project - a Community-University Research Alliance for Southern Ontario's Social Economy - consists of a network of leading scholars from 11 universities in Southern Ontario, 22 partner organizations, and scholars from seven universities external to the node whose research will be beneficial to this initiative.

Centre for the Study of Education and Work

CSEW brings together educators from university, union, and community settings to understand and enrich the often- undervalued informal and formal learning of working people. CSEW develops research and teaching programs on learning and work. It promotes policy initiatives and public events connected to the paid and unpaid workplace, in traditional and new media for learning.

New Approaches to Lifelong Learning

This research initiative studied the informal, often unrecognized learning of working people across Canada and abroad. The work was completed by 2001, and this site provides access to the project descriptions and publications.

Research Network on Work and Lifelong Learning

This network of investigators is composed of researchers from seven universities and more than 10 co-investigators from community groups and professional institutions across Canada. Benefiting from the contributions of international advisors, the WALL research network endeavours to identify gaps in workplace training and education in Canada and bring visibility to current learning and work issues and trends.
